THE SILENT GENOCIDE

π’ THE CLAIM GOING VIRAL
Social media posts are circulating claiming “62,000 Christians have been murdered in Nigeria” with images of mass funerals and accusations that “the world remains silent.”
We investigated. Here’s what we found.
β THE NUMBERS: VERIFIED
The 62,000 figure is essentially accurate based on cumulative data:
- 52,250 Christians killed (2009-2023) – International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law
- 3,100 Christians killed in 2024 – Open Doors World Watch List
- 7,087 Christians killed (Jan-Aug 2025) – Intersociety report
Total through October 2025: ~60,000-62,000 deaths
But here’s what’s more alarming: Christians are 6.5 times more likely to be killed in affected regions compared to Muslims when adjusting for population.
This isn’t random violence. This is targeted persecution.
