About True Signal Media

Independent • Founder-Led • Mission-Driven

In an era of information overload and manufactured narratives, True Signal Media exists to transmit clarity. We document what endures—stories of service members abandoned by bureaucracy, communities building resilience against systemic challenges, and citizens demanding accountability from those in power.

The True Signal Story

Why We Exist

True Signal Media emerged from a simple but urgent need: someone had to document the truth.

When U.S. Army veteran Kelvin Blas was abandoned by his own embassy in Togo; stranded for over 5+ years due to bureaucratic negligence and institutional failure—mainstream outlets either ignored the story. The system that was supposed to protect him instead became his prison.

This wasn't an isolated incident. It was a pattern. Veterans discarded by the Veterans Administration (VA). FOIA requests stonewalled by agencies. Communities left to fend for themselves while institutions failed. The news cycle moved on, but the problems remained.

True Signal Media was founded to be different. We don't chase viral moments. We document systemic failures, track institutional accountability, and tell stories that endure beyond the 24-hour news cycle.

We prioritize depth over virality, substance over spectacle, and truth over convenience.

Our Philosophy: Fieldwork

True Signal Media operates according to the principles of Fieldwork—a philosophy of preparation, documentation, and enduring impact. It's boots on the ground. It's reading the documents. It's showing the work that matters, even when no one's watching.

Preparation over Reaction

We do the homework before the crisis. We build the context before the event unfolds.

Documentation over Speculation

We build the record that exists. We prioritize accuracy and depth over clickbait narratives.

Substance over Speed

We prioritize accuracy over being first. Solid reporting takes time.

Legacy over Virality

We focus on what endures. Stories that matter in 6 months, not just 6 hours.

Action over Commentary

We engage directly with the work. Field reporting, FOIA requests, on-the-ground documentation.
